Why GigFinance Tools?

Built for 1099 life

Generic tax calculators assume a W-2 salary. Ours start from how gig workers actually get paid: net self-employment earnings, deductible business miles, and quarterly payments — the things that surprise first-time freelancers every April.

Private by design

Every calculation runs entirely in your browser. We don't ask for your name, email, or income details, and nothing you type is sent to our servers — because there is no account system at all.

Free, no signup

All tools are free to use, unlimited, with no account and no paywall. We keep the lights on with ads, which is why you'll never be asked to "upgrade" to see a result.

Plain-language guides

Each calculator comes with a short guide explaining how the math works and what to watch out for — written for people filing as self-employed for the first time.

Frequently asked questions

Are these calculators really free?

Yes. Every tool on this site is free with no usage limits and no account required. The site is supported by advertising.

Is my financial data sent anywhere?

No. All calculations happen locally in your browser using JavaScript. We don't have user accounts, and the numbers you enter are never transmitted to us or anyone else.

Are the results tax advice?

No. The calculators produce good-faith estimates based on published 2025/2026 IRS figures (tax brackets, standard deductions, mileage rates). Everyone's situation is different — for decisions that matter, talk to a qualified tax professional or CPA.

Which tax year do the calculators use?

The self-employment and quarterly calculators use 2025 federal brackets and standard deductions (the return you'd file in 2026). The mileage calculator uses the 2026 IRS standard mileage rates, split between January–June and July–December as the IRS announced them.

Do I need to create an account or download anything?

No. Everything works right in your browser on phone, tablet, or desktop. The invoice generator's "Download PDF" button simply uses your browser's built-in print-to-PDF feature.

I'm new to self-employment. Where should I start?

Start with the Self-Employment Tax Calculator to see roughly what you'll owe, then check the Quarterly Estimated Tax Calculator — most 1099 workers are supposed to pay the IRS four times a year, not once in April.
